Dust Masks vs. Nasal Filters – Which is better?

When it comes to preventing all sorts of airborne pollutants present in our surroundings, we tend to use masks to protect us from the same. Well, some of us use dust masks, and some of us go for nasal air filters, which are new to the market. 

Where dust masks ease our problem by discarding the dust particles from our breathing track, nasal air filters help us by removing allergic particles from the same. Each of them performs exactly the same function, which is to clear air coming to our nasal track. 

Well, if we have to draw the comparison between the two, we can first have a look at their uses, and then we can differentiate between the two. 

Dust Mask uses

Dust masks are flexible pads to hold over the nose and mouth, which perform the functions of reducing dust particles from our nasal track. They are used to protect against airborne particulates and pollutants. While using one, you should be careful about which to opt for a cause using the wrong one can land you in danger. But not to forget, these masks don’t protect yours from volatile gases. 

Well, these masks are cheaper, lighter, and more comfortable in comparison to other respirators. Though, they don’t provide so much protection and can be misused as well. Yet, research shows that the better option to this dust makes are available, and they are nasal air filters.

Nasal Filter uses

Nasal air filters are far away easy to use and are available as invisible nasal filters. Their primary function is to discard the allergic pollutants while breathing. They are made of transparent plastic, which makes them invisiblenasalfilters. They are not easily detected by others, as they are transparent and are fitted in your nostrils. 

They protect yours from almost every sort of allergic pollutant. They are a good substitute for other protectors of air pollutants and that of allergic medication as well. Also, they are easy to hold, not do they cause any kind of uncomfortable feeling while using it. They are much more effective in comparison with all other products claiming to provide you with cleansing air and breathing.

Comparison between dust masks and nasal filters

  • One can use these nasal air filters, for a much longer time than usual dust masks. The usage time of nasal filters is about 24hrs per pair and 3-4 traditional masks within 24hrs.
  • Invisible nasal filtersare much more discreet to use, as dust masks are easily noticeable. 
  • Nasal filters are easy to use and handle as well, especially while on the go, whereas dust masks are no doubt easy to use, but they can prove as a hassle to use if it comes to the long run.
  • These filters prove to be much more affordable in terms of continuous and regular use, as compared to dust masks.
