Three Clothing Items Every Female Traveler Should Pack

March 11, 2015

One of the most difficult tasks for a female traveler is packing. There are some rare women who can survive with next to nothing, however most tend to stress while packing and then inevitably overpack. The grand dream to explore the world with nothing but a camera and a small backpack is completely unrealistic for the majority. Although, there are some essentials that can go a long way and take up next to no room in your luggage:

Pashmina/Sarong

A pashmina/sarong is probably the greatest female accessory ever invented. It can truly act as a hundred different things. When traveling, do not spend your money on other stuff; invest in a beautiful scarf or cover-up. It will keep you warm on the plane, make you look chic by the pool, help you to be conservative when visiting a sacred place, and will spruce up any basic outfit. You will no doubt be surprised at the amount of things you can use it for.

Silver Or Gold Sandals

Instead of wasting space and packing stilettos for your nights out on the town, bring one pair of gorgeous looking silver or gold sandals. Choose the color that matches the jewelry you wear the most. Make sure they are both stylish and comfortable and they will take you from wandering around a city to walking through rain forests to dancing the night away.

Little Black Dress

Any female who is undertaking an epic journey wants to look good in the process. After all, her pictures will be cherished for a lifetime. Little black dresses can be dressed down to look casual or dressed up to look sexy. Every woman looks good in one, as they are universally flattering. This item truly has the power to turn a disheveled backpacker into a fashionista. My favorite is from Old Navy. Since it is so inexpensive, I can afford a couple and I do not care if they get ruined along the way.

What clothing items do you think every female traveler should pack? I recommend making and keeping a list of your clothing items, especially if you travel frequently. Carry the list with you, so that you can refer to it as you move from one location to the next. Keep your jewelry close at hand and guard it the way you would your wallet and passport. I wish you safe and stylish travels ladies!

I feel like I recall a similar post from you… and I remember being all for the shoes! It’s so important to have a snazzy pair of shoes to make your feet feel like dancing – even if that dancing is walking around all day seeing stuff. Long term travel can really make a gal feel grubby (or is that just me?) so spicing things up with a cute scarf, some great kicks or a dynamite necklace really makes a difference.

Yes, I did write a post like this many years ago, what an awesome memory you have! I agree, longterm travel can definitely make a gal feel grubby, which is why it’s so important to have a couple of things that can totally transform your look and make you feel gorgeous!
