Watching | Game of Thrones
For five years my husband begged me to watch Game of Thrones. Nothing about the show appealed to me. Not one thing! I do not remember how he eventually talked me into watching the first episode, but what I do remember is that sixty minutes later I became the biggest fan (AKA I was up some nights at 3AM googling “how to speak Dothraki”). We are in the midst of rewatching every episode to prepare for Season 8’s debut on April 14th. I have not come to terms yet with the fact that this is the last season. #TeamDaenerys
Reading | Becoming
I received Becoming as a Christmas present and while I do not have much time to read these days, I have been devouring every page of this breathtakingly beautiful memoir whenever I get a free minute to myself. Michelle Obama is such an inspiration and icon to me.
Working On | Blogging/Shooting More Regularly
My last “currently” post was over a year ago. My last photo shoot was even longer. For someone who used to blog and shoot daily for years, I have definitely dropped the ball and to be honest I am actually okay with having taken a step back from My Beautiful Adventures. My time and energy was needed in other areas of my life. However, now I am ready to start blogging and shooting more regularly. On a side note: if you are interested in shooting with me, you can find out more about my photography services here.
Feeling | Nostalgic
Joaquín is growing up so fast. He speaks in full sentences, is able to do just about everything on his own, and last week at his Wellness Visit he smiled when they gave him his vaccinations. He is such a big boy! I never thought I would miss the newborn and baby days as much as I am. All I can say is that I truly appreciate every single moment now, because life is flying by.
Planning | My Best Friend’s Visit
My BBF/soul sister, Jules, is coming to visit for a week in March and to say that I am excited would be the biggest understatement. I am currently planning every day of her trip to the Queen City and I will share some of our adventures together on my social media channels. My #1 goal is to convince her to move to here.
Loving | MMT
I have been working with a Medical Massage Practitioner this last year to fix some major structural issues with my body. It has been life changing! If you are in the Charlotte, North Carolina area I highly recommend Kimberly Ornellas. You can find her information here and here. It is definitely not a massage for the faint of heart, but if you want to be healed this is the way to go and Kim is your girl!
My Favorite Photo | CBD Anything
Both Julie and Kim suggested I try out CBD. I had been hearing about its “magical powers” for over a year now, but I thought people were just experiencing “the placebo effect.” That was until, Japa Organics sent me their strawberry CBD oil and CBD oil salve. Kim has been giving me my massages with the salve and I cannot put into words how extraordinary I feel afterwards. The two biggest issues CBD helps me with are anxiety and pain, however the list of what it can treat is very long.
